Who Is That?

The Absurd Class Game

WHO IS THAT? | CHARACTER DESCRIPTION & GUESSING GAME

Who is That? is a digital guessing game targeting descriptive adjectives, question formation, and profile identification. By choosing characters and asking target questions, students interact to determine their partner's secret character, building vocabulary for physical and personal traits.

Developing Descriptive Accuracy & Question Structures

This game targets physical description vocabulary (e.g. facial features, clothing, expressions) and yes/no question structures ("Does he wear glasses?" "Is she smiling?"). Focused on CEFR levels A1 to B2, it trains learners in precise vocabulary and structural consistency under a gamified premise.

Classroom Integration & Question Battles

The game can be played in pairs where each student selects a character on their screen. They take turns asking questions, crossing off characters that do not match the answers. Teachers can extend the task by having students write detailed character profiles or role-play a police suspect lineup, using descriptive vocabulary.

Scaffolding for Diverse Proficiency Levels

Beginners are provided with a visual list of descriptive terms (hair colors, styles) to help draft questions. Advanced students can play with constraints, such as only asking about abstract character traits or wearing habits, avoiding direct physical queries to increase challenge.
